The proposed 2.5 mile long Natick section will start at Route 30 near Home Depot and Cochituate State Park. It will travel southeast along the shore of Lake Cochituate, cross the lake using an embankment, and cross Route 9 on the present rail bridge. It will continue through several residential areas, pass Pegan Cove Park, and terminate at the commuter rail station in Natick Center. The trail will pass close to many businesses and office buildings on Speen Street, and a side trail will connect to the Natick Mall, General Cinemas, and Shopper's World Mall using the old Wonder Bread spur line.

In a big step forward, freight service on this section of the rail line recently ceased. The town of Natick filed for railbanking in August, 2006 and establisehd a CRT Task Force in September to advise the Town. Learn more about the Natick Cochituate Rail Task Force.

Please note that the CRT is not yet open for public use.

This scenic section of rail line in Natick is expected to become available for trail use.

This rail bridge over Route 9 will allow the CRT to link neighborhoods which have been separated by highway construction.
